Crush Bowl 1 and The Inagural Tejas Showdown History
The 1st Crush Bowl was the brain child of Coach Jon Evans back in Feb. of 2012 in San Antonio Texas. The American Football game was modified to be played with only 9 players on the field instead of the traditional 11 man game. The ages of the participants ranged from 7 to 9 years old and Team Texas pulled out a close victory with a score of 30 - 20.
The Crush Bowl was such a success, that Coach Dee Bradfield and Coach Ray Brown have decided to ensure that this years game is an even better experience for all the players and families involved. So the Tejas Showdown was created. The Tejas Showdown isn't just about a football game, It's about the life memories and friendships that will be created by these football players from two different nations.
In 2014, two football teams from Torrean Mexico that traveled to the United States. A team developed of 9 and 10 years old and a 11-12 years old team. Upon Mexico's arrival, Team Texas and Team Mexico experienced a meet n greet BBQ party that allowed the players and families to mingle and interact with each other. The following day, the teams headed off to Fiesta Texas in San Antonio for some Texas sized rollercoaster fun. The icing on the cake was the friendly American football game played on Sunday June 29th at the Palace in Round Rock, Texas.
